This is a monthly class that you can participate in partially or for the whole year. Below is the where and when and a description of knitting plan for each month. Including one dye class!
2nd Wednesday of every month from 1-3pm. Class will be at my home in Highland, MD. I will send you the exact address and driving directions when you register.
2027: Designer is Rebecca Osborn, author, designer, and bi-monthly podcast
January: Start “Spikehands” hand warmers. Begin modular square with 2 colors with discussion on techniques involved. Two colorways offered in “Tempting Ewe” yarn dyed by Amanda at Clover Hill yarn.
February: Continue mittens with top and bottom cuffs. Meet Rebecca over Zoom.She chats about her book, “Migraineur.” and we can ask questions about “Spikehands.”
March: Go over Thumb gusset and tubular cast off.
April: Dye yarn for “Waves” shawl. This shawl wingspan is 61” and 4 hanks of one main color and 2 of the contrast color. Two colorways offered. We will dye the yarn in my studio and discuss natural dyeing.
May: Cast on “Waves” shawl, using the colors we dyed. Begin Garter tab and set up the 2-color garter stripes in Sections 1 and 2. Techniques in this shawl include Intarsia, a slipped stitch edging, and lace.
June: Continue “Waves” shawl section 3.
July: Continue “Waves” shawl” sections 4 and 5.
August: Continue “Waves” shawl sections 7 and 8
September: “Waves” sections 9 and 10. Another visit with Rebecca on Zoom. Queries about this pattern and others. Vote on last pattern.
October: Start last pattern, a hat or mittens. Pattern to be decided together after looking through Rebecca’s book.
November: Continue pattern. Information on the yarn and dyer we used, Amada from Clover Hill and her yarn: Tempting Ewe.
December: Last meeting together.
