Made in MD Alpaca is a sport yarn made from the suri alpacas of a MD farm called Flamepool Alpacas.
It is 100% alpaca, milled at Painted Sky alpaca Farm and Fiber Mill, also in Maryland. I dyed it
with cochineal and osage. There is some pink too that I couldn’t get to show up in the picture.
Each hank is about 110g, tightly plied so it makes a lovely soft dense
yarn that has excellent stitch definition but also lovely drape. When I knit the sample moebius
shawl, it knit up sturdily and beautifully.
